The English horses [large print] William A. Luckey.
Burn English believes in two things: the freedom of the open range and that a mustang he can tame is his to sell. He doesn't make much money, but with nerves of tempered steel and a fair bit of luck, he gets by. Gordon Meiklejon, part of a prominent British family, was endowed with money to invest, provided he settled and went into business somewhere that wasn't under the British flag. He chose to buy the L Slash Ranch in New Mexico to build his cattle empire. Folks don't mind having a foreigner with new ideas for improving the breeding lines of the cattle for a neighbor -- until he starts sectioning off his land with barbed wire. Throw in a wayward rustler looking to take advantage of the simmering tension, and next thing you know a range war is ready to blow. Now English has more to worry about than just fencing -- his very life is at stake!
